To convey to the reader anything like an adequate and detailed account of this truly magnificent pile would far exceed our limits; but of its effect, as a bold and imposing feature in the landscape, and of its stately elevation above every other building in the city, a correct idea may be formed from the engraved subject here introduced. The point from which the view is taken is the battle-field-a rising ground on the Wirtemburg heights, commanding the city and Bavarian territory, extending along the right bank of the Danube, with the Tyrolese Alps in the distance.
